How was welfare capitalism used to prevent unionization?

What will be an ideal response?

Welfare capitalism describes an employer strategy to discourage unionization by offering workers better wages, hours, and working conditions. In addition, welfare capitalism sought to improve the relationship with workers through better, more sensitive supervision and mechanisms to allow employee voice in the workplace. The idea was to make the workplace pleasant enough that workers would not feel the need to unionize. These practices would also make workers more dependent upon a particular employer, rather than the government, for certain benefits such as health care, insurance, and long term financial security.
