What will be an ideal response?
Proteins are chains of amino acids linked together with peptide bonds. Amino acids, which contain carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and, in some cases, sulfur, are composed of a central carbon with a carboxyl group, a hydrogen, a nitrogen-containing amine group, and a unique side chain. There are 20 different side chains and therefore 20 unique amino acids.
