You have a tenured teacher with 15 years’ experience who has never developed skills in using technology, even though there have been workshops conducted by the district. The teacher wants to have a self-directed development plan centered on him/her taking an instructional technology course at a local college. What would you do and why?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: While it is a good idea for the teacher to take the course, he/she still needs intensive development. The principal needs to see what the teacher learns in the course is translated into action in the classroom. In addition, the principal may elect to coach the teacher or appoint a mentor teacher who has great skill in the use of technology to coach the teacher.
