Researcher Peter Hepper found that human fetuses as young as 30 weeks old are

capable of forming memories and later altering their behavior accordingly. When he played
a melody repeatedly to 30-week-old fetuses, they relaxed. After birth they responded by
relaxing when presented with the same but not other melodies.

(Causal conclusion. According to the methods of agreement and difference, the cases
in which the fetus relaxes are all accompanied by a specific melody. When that
melody is not played, but some other one is played, the baby does not relax. Hepper
has evidence for concluding that memory of the melody is causally responsible for the
baby's behavior.)
