Why must a firm's STP strategy be consistent with and derived from the firm's mission and objectives?
What will be an ideal response?
Segmentation, targeting, and positioning begin with the recognition that no firm has sufficient resources to be all things to all customers. When a firm's STP strategy is consistent with and derived from its mission and objectives, it focuses the firm toward opportunities that grow out of what the firm is doing well and not in a random, spurious direction. Focused STP strategy acknowledges weaknesses and threats and builds upon strengths and opportunities.
