Describe sensible ways to lose weight.

What will be an ideal response?

Responses will vary; people who are serious about losing weight, have to include regular exercise along with proper food management and a sensible reduction in caloric intake to be successful. A sensible caloric intake involves developing new behaviors and determining how many calories you normally consume. Most people underestimate their caloric intake. Additionally, you need to learn how to make wise food choices. Furthermore, to be successful, you need to estimate your daily caloric requirement so you can watch your energy-balance equation. The final caloric intake to lose weight should never be below 1200 calories per day for women and 1500 calories per day for men. Another step to losing weight is to reduce your fat intake. With fat providing more than twice the number of calories that proteins and carbohydrates provide, you can reduce your fat and caloric intake all in one step. It is also important to eat breakfast as research indicates that those who eat breakfast regularly tend to consume less fat throughout the day. Finally, participate in a regular physical activity program.
