Compare and contrast employee orientation with production orientation. How are they similar and how are they different? In which case would you as a leader need to be attentive to both perspectives?
What will be an ideal response?
Employee orientation is a relationship-focused approach that can help build trusts and connections, whereas a production-orientation focuses more on achieving goals, which is important to maintaining high standards and requiring results. One environment in which a leader would need to practice both styles would be in a situation where the work is complex, unfamiliar and demanding. In such a scenario, the leader would need to challenge followers to produce the results while also providing support to help them through the stress of a challenge.
