Explain the concept of entrapment and how investigators may work to establish predisposition on the part of the suspect
What will be an ideal response?
Entrapment occurs when the police induce someone into committing a crime they otherwise would not commit. The police may provide an opportunity for a person to commit the crime but cannot compel or induce a person to commit a crime they are not previously predisposed to committing. As “predisposition” is the key element, investigators may engage in several transactions in order to establish a pattern of behavior and thus predisposition.
