What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Students should mention that art was important to these Italians; under their patronage, art was revived, and they rescued art from the past and accommodated it to their time period. Students should also mention that the frenzy to discover and learn from the past classical age and reading Greek classics were also important; this interest eventually spread throughout most of Europe creating an intense activity to change and accommodate art and learning, which started in Italy. The Renaissance Italians were the first to recognize that a state could be free of religion and philosophical traditions, which they believed was a roadblock to creativity. Another important factor growing from this time and the men who lived through it was a growing trend toward individualism and nationalism. The French word that is associated with the men and their time is Renaissance.
