If their concentrations are too high due to dehydration, the muscles and nerves may not function as well as they could. The transport of glucose to tissues may be reduced due to dehydration as well. When glucose levels are low in the muscle and nerve cells, they may not function as well as they should for quicker reaction times or for coordination.
