What will be an ideal response?

Subcommittees, of which there are dozens in both the House and Senate, typically handle specific areas of other, larger committees' jurisdictions. For example, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs is a standing committee with six subcommittees. Each subcommittee handles bills relevant to its specific jurisdiction, and applies agency review, hearings, markup, and reports in its processing of legislation.
