What will be an ideal response?

To challenge a confession, the defendant files a motion for suppression. A hearing on the motion is held where the defendant can testify without giving up the right to remain silent at trial. Then the judge rules on the suppression motion. The admission of a confession may also be challenged at trial by objection.
