Analyze the situation and explain how you would make a decision.Betty has to go to New Orleans on business. If she flies there and back on the same day her round trip airfare will cost $700. If she stays overnight, her round trip airfare will cost $400, her hotel will cost $100, and three extra meals will cost $75.Which is the better option?

What will be an ideal response?

Answers may vary. One possibility: It will cost her $575 to stay overnight  and it will cost her $700 to fly back the same day. It appears that staying overnight is the better option, since it will save her $125. However, she could consider other factors before making a decision. Will staying overnight force her to miss all or part of a day of work? If so, that could cost her more than $125. Is it important to her to be home with her family? If so, the potential $125 savings may be illusory. Then again, she might enjoy having a night to herself and ordering room service.
