Define niche. Based on your definition, describe the niche of the yellowtail flounder
What will be an ideal response?
The niche is the job (role) the organism have in its environment. For example the niche of the yellowtail flounder is that of a bottom-feeding carnivore. However, the best answers will also mention that a niche includes all aspects of the organism that has to do with its role or job. For example, predators that feed on the yellowtail founder, range on the bottom of the ocean where it is found, type of cover it uses to protect itself from predators, where it reproduces, etc., are all part of this complex concept called a niche.
