Explain what is meant by the term "entrepreneurial orientation" or EO.

What will be an ideal response?

EO refers to the strategy-making practices that businesses use in identifying and launching corporate ventures. It represents a frame of mind and a perspective toward entrepreneurship that is reflected in a firm's ongoing processes and corporate culture. An EO has five dimensions that permeate the decision-making styles and practices of the firm's members: (1) autonomy, (2) innovativeness, (3) proactiveness, (4) competitive aggressiveness, and (5) risk taking. These factors work together to enhance a firm's entrepreneurial performance. But even those firms that are strong in only a few aspects of EO can be quite successful.
