Why is it important to determine the process boundaries?
What will be an ideal response?
The process should be studied from the customer's point-of-view. It is the customer who determines the boundaries of the process. Once it is understood how the customer views the process, the process boundaries can be established. True process improvement comes from a knowledge of what adds value or meaning for a customer. Not looking at the process from a customer viewpoint often leads to a narrow definition of the process, narrow process boundaries. This narrow definition of the process boundaries limits improvement efforts because it fails to study the customer experience.
