What are gender differences concerning long-term mating?

What will be an ideal response?

Long-term relationships require greater investment and commitment from both partners. Long-
term relationships are more preferable for women, but they also have become normative for men as
well. Men prefer intelligent and cooperative partners in long-term relationships while women look for
commitment and resources. Jealousy is present in both genders; fear of infidelity differs. Males are
more concerned about sexual infidelity because of paternity uncertainty, whereas women fear
emotional infidelity because it can lead to loss of resources and protection gained in a relationship.
