Describe Prochaska and DiClemente’s stages-of-change model and list the stages of change in order.

What will be an ideal response?

Prochaska and DiClemente examined systems of psychotherapy and identified 10 change processes that have received theoretical and research support. They recommend that psychotherapists consider both the stage of change and the level of change appropriate for the client when planning treatment. The stages, in order, are precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance.
