What is "hooking up?"

What will be an ideal response?

*Sociologist Kathleen Bogle writes that "hooking up" has essentially replaced dating on college
and university campuses. Hooking up is a nonromantic, short-term, physical/sexual encounter,
similar to "friends with benefits," but without the friendship requirement. (As an alternative you
could also have students comment on how they view such "relationships" and what they believe
characterizes the interpersonal communication of such arrangements.)
