Briefly describe the differences between bitmap (raster) and vector graphics.
What will be an ideal response?
Bitmapped images are made up of pixels and are dependent on their resolution to determine their file size and image quality. Vector graphics are derived from mathematical coordinates (lines and points) connected together. Vector graphics are resolution independent; they can be scaled big and small and maintain their visual quality. Photoshop mainly works with bitmap images, although it does have some temporary vector support.
