Explain the roles of the reader, purpose, and text in reading and their consideration for planning instruction.

What will be an ideal response?

When planning effective instruction, teachers must consider the roles of the reader, the text, and purpose and their interactions. The skills, background knowledge and abilities of individual students must be considered, especially in relation to the text selected and setting the purpose for reading that text. The three variables can change the reading experience and must be considered when assessing and planning for reading tasks.
