What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary and can contain several key points from each culture, but should be similar to the following. The different characteristics of each culture can and will have an affect on the science classroom. An effective teacher will become aware of these differences and use them when planning implementing instruction. Pulling on the strengths of each culture can make a multicultural classroom truly exciting, interesting, and educational. African Americans value oral experience and use expressive language, stress loyalty in interpersonal relationships, and believe that human beings are spiritual; Anglo Americans value individuality highly, believe that reality is material, and value objectivity, analytical thinking, and accuracy; Mexican Americans seek friendly, personal adult relationships, become bicultural or bicognitive to succeed, and tend to need affiliation, Native Americans are global learners, come from a strong oral tradition, and believe that reality is spiritual.
