Demonstrate how long-term potentiation occurs.
What will be an ideal response?
Long-term potentiation is a cellular change that enhances the synaptic strength between two neurons. It occurs when brain cells fire repeatedly within a very short period of time. This type of stimulation may be brought on by repetitive tasks during studying. When this stimulation is enough, it causes a cascade of chemicals to be released that produce new proteins and new synapses. This leads to the formation of a memory network.
