What are the general guidelines for creating an effective crisis communications plan?
What will be an ideal response?
A crisis plan should be so simple that anyone who can read can understand it. Since crises rarely appear exactly as anticipated, a plan should not be centered on the perfect scenario in which only a trained communicator is in charge of the execution. As bench strength (having more than one person who can do any given job) is the secret to great athletic teams, it should be the secret to your crisis plan as well. This means having people from multiple levels and functional areas within the firm involved in crisis planning and trained for crisis response.
