How can a person develop the skills necessary to become a capable health services researcher?

What will be an ideal response?

A competent health services researcher must become knowledgeable in the following six skill areas or have those skill sets reflected in his/her research team: subject matter, methodology, statistics, computer application software, writing, and public relations. Many of these skills can be acquired in the classroom setting through the integration of theories and practices. However, proficiency in research can be achieved only by carrying out numerous research projects that integrate the many phases of health services research. Health services researchers should continually improve their knowledge of these six skill areas.
