Have an awareness of behavioral traditions and normal behaviors for a particular culture—avoid misunderstanding an action as disrespect or rude when it is simply culturally appropriate. Taking the time to ask students how they like to work (individual, group or teams). Understand how students like to give feedback (verbal, written, pictorial). Realize of how a certain culture may perceive school rules and expectations. Be aware of parents and their cultures, level of English, and the family relationship.
