What is cooperative teaching? Provide a rationale for why educators might want to use cooperative teaching in their classrooms.
What will be an ideal response?
Cooperative teaching, also known as coteaching, is when two educators work together in the classroom in a collaborative and cooperative way to plan, deliver, and monitor education services and by differentiating their instruction. One reason why educators may wish to use coteaching is when they wish to combine a general education teacher with a early childhood special educator. A general education teacher, for example, can provide support to all learners in the classroom regardless of any delays or disabilities a child has, while the expertise of an early childhood special educator can provide accommodations for those needing specialized attention in some capacity.
