What is the relationship between societal wealth and ideas about personal happiness and fulfillment? How does this influence expectations about marriage?

What will be an ideal response?

In general, the wealthier the society, the greater the expectations of personal
fulfillment. As western societies became industrialized and more and more people
reached middle-class status, ideas about the importance of personal fulfillment became
more widespread. This led to lower marriage rates, wanting to marry at later ages, and
wanting to marry someone you loved.
