What is Solver? What can Solver help managers determine?
What will be an ideal response?
Excel's Solver is an add-in that helps optimize a problem by manipulating the values for several variables with constraints—rules—that you determine. Managers can use Solver to find the highest, lowest, or exact value for a specific outcome by adjusting values for selected variables. Business managers can use Solver to minimize or maximize the output based on the constraints. For example, the golf course manager could use Solver to determine a sales strategy that would help the golf course maximize its profit given a specific mix of services given to customers.
