Not all psychologists are convinced that anger, fear, and so forth are psychological "elements.". For several reasons many question whether it makes sense to talk about basic emotions at all. Describe at least one argument presented in your text that argues against the concept of "basic emotions."
What will be an ideal response?
First, the components of an emotion often occur piecemeal. For example, you might have the cognition "that person treated me unfairly" without feeling anger, or you might feel angry without any appropriate cognition. Second, emotions overlap. People often feel angry and frightened at the same time, or sad and frightened. In fact, feeling or expressing just one emotion may be the exception rather than the rule. Third, the various emotions have similar physiological responses.
