Please discuss the potential benefits of group therapy that you find the most compelling, compare them to other methods, and explain why these benefits are different or better than individual therapy.

What will be an ideal response?

I think one of the largest benefits of group therapy for both children and caregivers is the fact that it lets people know that they are not alone and that others have shared a similar experience. For children, individual therapy may make them feel as though there is something wrong with them or that they are being punished for what happened to them. In group therapy, a child is able to connect with other children who have had similar experiences, making them feel as though they are not alone. For parents, there may be a lot of shame and stigma that comes with the incident that brought them to group therapy. Knowing other parents or caregivers who have been in similar situations is helpful, and being around others may motivate them to change.
