Frequency is the number of back-and-forth movements of an air molecule that occurs within I second. Frequency is measured in Hertz (Hz). Human hearing ranges from about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Pitch is the perceptual correlate of frequency. Intensity is associated with the amount of sound pressure that occurs as a result of the collision of air molecules. Loudness is the perceptual correlate of intensity.
