Identify and explain the five requisite functions.

What will be an ideal response?

There are five requisite functions: problem analysis, determine minimal
standards, the identification of alternatives, evaluating, and selecting an
alternative. Problem analysis requires the group to take a realistic look at the
problem and its likely causes. The group will need to do information gathering.
Determining minimal standards or characteristics of an acceptable solution is the
second function. This involves establishing criteria or standards. The third
function, identifying alternatives, means that the group must brainstorm as many
solutions as possible without being critical. The group must next weigh the
pros/cons of each option, evaluating each. Finally, the group must make a
selection based on their evaluation.
