In developed societies, issues such as stereotypes and discrimination as well as family obligations, lack of resources and mentorship, and time poverty, influence participation. In developing areas, women face physical violence, poverty, limited educational opportunities, as well as gender stereotyping, lack of mentorship, and discrimination.
