What is adrenarche, and why is it a significant part of children's sexual development?

What will be an ideal response?

Adrenarche is the maturation of the adrenal glands. It marks a transition in children's sexual desire between the ages of 6 and 10. As the adrenal glands mature, they stimulate hormones that begin the changes we associate with puberty. These hormonal increases are thought to trigger an increase in erotic interest and attractions. Many adults recall their first sexual attractions to peers occurring at about age 10.
