Should the victim have the same constitutional rights as the defendant?

What will be an ideal response?

You hear this statement frequently when working with victims, but think about it most victims have the same constitutional rights as defendants. About the only two is that the indigent victim will never have a counsel paid by state or federal government and the victim has no right to a speedy trial. While the victim may not refuse to testify, rarely will a judge force a victim to testify.
