What are the two types of contingency reserves and how are they handled?

What will be an ideal response?

Contingency reserves in financial and managerial forms are among the most common methods used to mitigate project risks. Task contingency, perhaps the most common form of contingency reserve, is used to offset budget cutbacks, schedule overruns, or other unforeseen circumstances accruing to individual tasks or project work packages. These budget reserves are used if work packages cannot be estimated with certainty or if required contractually. An offset of 20% means that a project will be built to a cost of 20% less than called for in the contract, with the 20% held in case a contingency arises. Managerial contingency means having budget safety measures that address higher level risks, such as a client requesting a dramatically altered scope.
