In what ways can a teacher help a child who has been abused or neglected?
What will be an ideal response?
Teachers should be positive role models. They can gradually build a trusting relationship with the child, offer unconditional acceptance, be a good listener, encourage the child's efforts, praise successes, offer a caring environment, establish limits for acceptable behavior, provide consistent routines to help the child feel secure, and encourage the child to talk about feelings and concerns (without adult judgment).
