When should an applicant use different objectives or different resumes?

An applicant should use more than one resume and job objective when applying for more than one type of job (an advertising or a retail sales position, for example). Each resume and objective should be tailored to fit the needs of each employer (particularly if the job openings differ significantly in skill or background requirements). The objective should emphasize the applicant's abilities that relate specifically to the job target.
