What is multicultural education, and what are some of the ways that it is approached in the public schools?

What will be an ideal response?

Multicultural education exposes students to the values and norms of different cultures in an attempt to show them the diversity of the human experience. Some schools feel that all cultures should be taught equally making no judgment about "good" or "bad" cultures. Other schools feel that only the cultures that are represented in the school should be studied. Other schools approach the issue with the idea that America is a culture of its own and it is the job of the school to teach the values and customs of this dominant culture.
