Compare and contrast asynchronous, deferred and disabled cancellation in Pthreads.
What will be an ideal response?
Asynchronous and deferred cancellation are similar in that the cancellation signal is delivered to the thread in both cases. Unlike a thread that specifies asynchronous cancellation, a thread that defers cancellation must explicitly check for the cancellation signal before terminating. When cancellation is disabled, the cancellation signal is not delivered to the thread.
