Describe sociodramatic play. Provide an example. How did Vygotsky view this type of play?

What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Sociodramatic play involves children choosing, assigning or negotiating roles for play. An example would be pretending to be a homeowner with a fire and someone else pretending to be a fireman who puts it out. Vygotsky thought this type of play promoted executive functioning, such as controlling one’s attention and controlling one’s behavior.
