ANS:
A precision square is a gage block that has a precise 90-degree angle between the bottom surface and one of the sides of the block. The precision square is set on the surface plate. The part is mounted with datum feature A on the precision square and the toleranced surface level with the surface plate. The height gage is moved across the surface plate to move the dial indicator across the part surface. The dial indicator reading must be equal to or less than the perpendicularity tolerance value for the surface to be within specification.
