What do adult returning students to college need in order to be successful?

What will be an ideal response?

Returning students need support from family and friends, including emotional support and tangible assistance in making progress toward educational goals. For example, family members can help the returning student to set aside time for studying without distractions or interruptions. Colleges and universities also play a role in aiding adult learners. The availability of classes scheduled during evenings and weekends, and online, as well polices on financial aid for part-time students, affect returning students' success. Opportunities to develop relationships with faculty are especially welcomed by returning students, but because many take night courses and only a few credits each semester, they may be less likely to develop these close relationships. Like earlier in life, education transforms development, grants opportunities and financial rewards, and is a vehicle of self-development for midlife adults.
