Explain the difference between a tentative and firm booking.

What will be an ideal response?

A tentative booking usually means that the banquet manager will put the client's name into the function book and will have first refusal if another person calls and wants the same room at the same time. The space may be tentatively held for one week without a deposit, at which time the client is contacted if they are still interested in the space, then a deposit is required.

A firm booking is the easiest to understand. A client gives the banquet manager a deposit for a party.
