Briefly describe the characteristics of an elliptical galaxy

Elliptical galaxies are rounded shapes that are elliptical (elongated) in cross section. Elliptical galaxies contain old stars. Stars in elliptical galaxies are on randomly oriented, elongated orbits. Elliptical galaxies have very little gas and dust.
