How do irrational beliefs affect sexuality?

What will be an ideal response?

Albert Ellis believed that irrational beliefs affect most relationship problems, including sexual ones. Irrational guilt or shame are seen as some of the most frequent obstacles to a satisfying sex life. Most often, irrational beliefs concern the sexual performance of oneself or one’s partner, including setting standards that must be achieved. People often create an idea of ideal sex and experience a sense of failure if it cannot be experienced or if it doesn’t lead to a desired finale. Cognitive behavioral therapy, developed by Ellis, is focused on understanding and changing irrational beliefs, therefore diminishing negative feelings and stress. Ellis generally tried to help his clients change rigid beliefs that often lead to dissatisfaction and adopt more flexible personal philosophies.
