What role do interest groups play in the government?

What will be an ideal response?

Ans: Interest groups serve the function of ensuring that everyone’s perspectives are represented in the government. However, the influence of one group is offset by the power of another. For example, a business has proposed a plan to build a supermarket in a mixed income neighborhood with its development taking up spaces for the lower rent living spaces. The residents and the community might band together to fight against the supermarket being built in their neighborhood.
