Discuss how propagation by hardwood cuttings differs from propagation by

semihardwood cuttings. What are some advantages of propagation by hardwood
cuttings?

Propagation by hardwood cuttings differs from softwood and semihardwood cuttings in
several ways: the time of year in which the cuttings are taken; the hardness, or maturity,
of wood used for the cuttings; the usual absence of leaves on the cuttings, and the
storage of cuttings instead of immediate planting. In addition to these advantages, other
advantages of propagation by hardwood cuttings include that the cuttings may be
shipped long distances or stored for long time periods, ease of propagation, ability to
store cuttings outdoors, and lack of expensive equipment.
