What is the evidence that the Sun is a relatively new star in the universe?
What will be an ideal response?
Spectroscopic investigations show that the Sun contains traces of heavy elements that couldn't have been manufactured in its interior. The heavy elements are evidence that the Sun is formed of material that must have composed older stars that have since exploded. The very oldest stars show little or no heavy elements. Newer stars were formed from the ashes of older stars.
